How I Spent A Happy Sunday

So, the last Sunday was way too beautiful to not have gone basking in the daylight! And hence the fam and I drove up from Melbourne and got in early as the restaurants tend to fill up quickly. We had an early lunch at Oakridge Wines that was seriously fantastic, super modern and understated. Chef Matt Stone has created a killer menu using local produce from the Yarra, in particular, this delicious pumpkin and macadamia dish.

I started with steady two courses here so I wasn’t too full followed by a tasting of their famous Chardonnay, and bought a couple of bottles.

Then we travelled around to Dominique Portet Winery which has this beautiful sunny outdoor area and stopped for a coffee. This place has got the most pleasant European feel to it. I’d say, it was super French! The Portet family’s work has made history and I truly recommend visiting this piece of heaven on a magical day and on a bike! I had to grab these pictures below from their website to show you; I was way too busy enjoying the soul & beauty of the place, so: –

We then visited Medhurst Wines! Somehow we knew we could keep eating all the deliciousness that this place had to offer. The incredible sunny view from the restaurant, paired with their new season rosé and cheese platter was deeply enjoyed by our happy-hungry group.

Soon upon craving some dessert we found ourselves at Coombe, sharing and celebrating a Peach Melba.

The gardens here make the perfect vision and we genuinely had a wonderful time just being there. This magical estate is the former home of the Aussie opera singer Dame Nellie Melba and the vibe is just too joyous! The rose gardens adorn the property, the swimming pool and the winery in the premises of the restaurant absolutely make it a fine, fine destination. I can see myself wanting to spend many afternoons here lunching or lazy evenings having a splendid high tea or just a chilling! Again, I was way too engrossed in the beauty of the place and being chill that I couldn’t click pictures.

The day was spent so well and I couldn’t help wanting to write about the awesomeness! I recommend you hit the road and celebrate the journey and the food. 😁

Sending a tonne of good vibes your way!!! ❤️
