Winter Fashion Australia…
Fashion is so reflective of the season – holidays, lazy days, summer, winter and a gazillion others! But winter fashion for me is a projection of how I understand “fashion”. For me, it is to be excessive with the clothing that makes me feel completely warm and also stylish. There’s plenty of room for experimentation and I like to mix and match. I do not always comply with the latest trends under “winter fashion Australia”. However, I am open to trends like coats, sweaters, suits, boots, blues, belts, ponchos, clothes that emit the throwback vibe that come to life in winter.
Jumping right on to what’s been having all my attention this winter – “boots”!!! I mean the room for experimentation it leaves is just immense! Of late, I’ve been obsessed with my black knee high beauties. I can pair them with skirts, shorts, skorts, tees, tunics, rompers and the combinations are endless. Just make sure that the hem of your clothing does not cover your boots.
Here I’ve paired them with this pastel coloured top and a lacy white skirt from Kookai. And my queen size jacket from London just completes the look. I cannot tell you how much of a treasure this jacket is to me! It is a lifetime purchase and I feel everyone needs a good quality timeless warm coat. When it comes to key pieces, don’t follow trends, instead, invest in good, quality pieces. Things that need to be timeless according to me include a coat, a leather jacket and a denim jacket.
I’d say go ahead, redefine and realise your winter fashion ideas because your comfort is primary. You need not follow all the winter fashion tips and winter fashion must haves out there, instead create your own art with clothes. It is winter, after all, and the room for winter fashion experimentation is plenty! Never buy a piece of clothing only because it is in vogue, instead grab it the minute it’s on sale! 😋
