All About My Day Out In Mumbai

So I’d been spilling some colour (🙃) on a super rainy day in Mumbai and trying random food joints! I obviously could not cover all the places I had on my wish list and I know that even one week might just not be enough. Mumbai is full of interesting and authentic spots for foodies. My day out in Mumbai was so wonderfully chill; I could totally see and experience the buzz and the business of the Mumbai streets and absolutely loved it!

Here are some of the spots I randomly covered: –

☕️A little chai stall at Versova because the garam chai (hot tea!) was just too inviting given the cozy, rainy, wet Mumbai weather

🍞Sassanian Boulangerie at Marine Lines for bun maska (butter) because honestly, a slather of good butter on bread seemed like a good idea at this homely quaint joint

🍲Olympia Coffee House at Colaba for kheema pav for the love of some meat and to get a bit of the South Mumbai on my plate

🌽Spiced corn cheese toasted sandwich at Sai Ganesh Sandwichwala, Fort (bang outside St. Xavier’s College gate!) because I really trust a college-goer’s choice of food joints

🍔Vada pav, chai (tea) and pakoras from a stall at Bandra because I just had to have this on-the-go khana of every Mumbaikar

🌴Fresh coconut water from a little stall in Pali Hill to quench my thirst in the best way possible and the place seemed so colour coordinated with me

Pratap the Dhaba at Oshiwara because I suddenly craved for jeera rice, daal, kebabs, garlic naan, and lassi (Yes, all at once peeps!)

Other than the places I’ve been to, the below street food spots and various other food joints have been recommended to me by my awesome peeps online: –

  1. Savoury Indian snacks/Chaat at Elco, Bandra
  2. Kebabs at Sarvi, Byculla
  3. Chicken baida roti and chicken tikka rolls at Bademiya, Colaba
  4. Quick bites at Khau Galli, Ghatkopar
  5. Faloodas at Badshah, Fort
  6. Berry pulao at Britannia and co., Fort
  7. Fruit custards and juices at Haji Ali Juice Center, Mahalaxmi
  8. South Indian delicacies at Hotel Ram Ashraya, Matunga
  9. Vada pavs at Ashok Vada Pav Stall, Prabhadevi
  10. Samosas at Guru Kripa, Sion
  11. Pav bhaji at Sardar Refreshments, Tardeo
  12. Flavoursome snacks by the Juhu beach

And mind you this does not end here, there are scores of food joints in Mumbai that I am yet to explore. Rest assured that I will keep you posted 🙂

Happy snacking and celebrating! 🤗

Hi Sarah,
Hope you enjoyed your mumbai visit.
Did you get your hands on the “pan shot” at Pratab da dhaba?

Hey Sarah,
I am sure you have a busy schedule but I would love it if I can be a host to you and your team. My mom and wife cook something called as “Malvani cuisine”. Its food thats is cooked on the border region of Maharashtra called Konkan.
Its very exclusive and you will seldom find it on Mumbai streets. Even if you do you may not find the authentic taste.

Mouthwatering.. I have been to ashok vada paav..I am a from goa..And there is one vada paav joint at farmagudi-goa.. near GEC college.. at the entry of ganesh temple.. I guess he makes much better vada paav than what you get at ashok vada paav..Try if you are in goa..

I invite to you in india’s another beautiful state GUJARAT
